Young Indians (Yi) is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s premier business association. Formed with an objective of creating a platform for young Indians to realize the dream of a developed nation.

Yi works effectively for promoting the development of its members through the learning platform; the development and engagement of students in schools and colleges through the bridge platform; and efficiently engages members for the development of the country through the membership platform. The focus areas of Yi include Employability, Environment, Education and Healthcare. Yi also plays a crucial role in promoting skill development and the employment of people.

On the international arena, Yi engages with the BMW Foundation to promote the “Indo German Young Leaders Forum” for young thought leaders from Germany and India to come on a common platform to discuss issues and find solutions for enhanced relationships. Yi also works closely with the Government at all levels and has partnered with Government of India to implement the “Know India Programme”.

Young Indians is the delivery arm for CII’S Theme India@75: The Emerging Agenda, which reflects its aspirational role to facilitate the acceleration in India’s transformation into an economically vital, technologically innovative, socially and ethically vibrant global leader by year 2022. Currently Yi has 18 chapters across the country, which includes a district chapter at Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh and a Corporate Chapter at Infosys Technologies Limited, Bangalore and in all engages around 900 Young Indians in "Shaping India" through "Nation building" activities and initiatives.

With an objective to set off a Chapter at Gwalior, CII’s Yi Indore Chapter is organising a "Familiarization Session on Yi (Young Indians) on 4th October 2008 at 6:30 pm at Hotel Central Park. The session will give an insight of national activities of Yi movement and about Indore Chapter initiatives. Mr Anuj Kothari, Chairman, Yi Indore Chapter & Director KNC Intrade Pvt Ltd,Indore and Mr Amit Badasaria, Chairman, Yi Membership & Director, VSN International, Indore will be addressing the gathering. The session will be attended by young entrepreneurs, professionals across the city.
